.Edward “Gunner” Robertson,80

Edward “Gunner” Robertson, age 80, of Milford, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family. A beloved husband, father, and friend, Ed leaves behind a legacy marked by hard work, humor, and a deep love of sports.

A true Milford legend, Ed was inducted into the Milford Hall of Fame for his outstanding achievements in both baseball and basketball. His athletic prowess in his youth left a lasting impression on all who watched him play, and his name remains etched in local sports history. He was a well-respected coach for many different Milford baseball organizations. As an avid boxing fan, he was the inspiration for the Milford Chapter of Team Micky Ward Charities, helping local families in need for 15 years. He will be remembered not only for his accomplishments but for his quick wit, generous heart, and the countless stories he told.

Edward is survived by his wife, Deborah Robertson; daughter, Erika Robertson of Milford; sons, Douglas Robertson of Slatersville, Rhode Island, Christian Robertson and his companion Rachel Carragher, of Charlton, MA; granddaughter, Victoria Robertson; and grandsons, Zackary Robertson, Jacoby Robertson, and Logan Robertson, all residing in Slatersville, Rhode Island.and Brother and Sister in law Peter and Claudia Scandone of Upton. He is predeceased by his mother, Elaine Robertson, and his father, Edward Robertson.

At Edward's request, all services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Ed’s memory by sharing a story, raising a glass, or watching a game in his honor—just the way he would’ve wanted.

Deb,Doug, Erika and Chris, So very sorry to hear of Eddies passing. We will always treasure the good times and fond memories we shared with Eddie over the years Especially, when he worked for Cushman’s Bakery. On my summer vacations he would always pick me up ( Billy) to help him with the bread deliveries. We had so many good laughs together. It was on that same truck, Eddie taught me how to drive a stick shift. Oh, What a ride it was! ! ! Rest In Peace dear friend, You will be sadly missed. Billy & Karen

We met 72 years ago……Gardella’s vs Davoren’s in the Milford Little league…..he was one of the “VERY VERY” best….we were all afraid of him as a pitcher, but later realized it was respect for his ability…..in years to come we played on the red team in the “combat league “ (basketball) needless to say he was “the best”. From our childhood to adulthood although you lose touch…..you NEVER forget friends and EDWARD J……you were my friend….God take care of him…..to the family , my family sends our deepest sympathy…..God bless you all.
