Antonio Pinto Carneiro, 88,

Antonio Pinto Carneiro, 88, of Milford passed away Friday, January 31, 2025 at the Milford Regional Medical Center after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family. He is the husband of Rosa Pinto Do Rego Carneiro for 59 years.  

   He was born in Dones, Montelagre, Portugal, son of the late Abel Pereira and Ludovina Pinto and emigrated to the United States in 1963 to Chicago, Illinois. Later finding his way to Milford, Massachusetts in 1964.  He retired from General Motors after 35 years. He enjoyed working on cars and always insisted on working on his own cars. He loved spending time with his family and friends, making his own wine, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife he is survived his children, Anthony P. Carneiro and wife Angela of Northbridge, Suzanne (Carneiro) Cosquete and husband Antonio of Milford, four grandchildren, Jessica Carneiro and Anthony Carneiro, Christina Cosquete and Michael Cosquete, one sister, Maria Aires of Natick and one brother, Jose Pinto of Milford, many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Mario Pinto, Rosa Pinto, Joao Carneiro, Bento Carneiro and Abel Pinto.            

Calling hours will be held Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 8:30 to 10:30 A.M. at the Consigli Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. Milford. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 AM at the St. Mary of the Assumption Church on Winter St. Milford. The burial will be in the parish cemetery on Cedar St.

He led his family with grace and dignity as well as laughter good health and longevity. He gave us two incredible children that we love and respect. Thank you for letting us celebrate his long and productive life with you. His departure will be dearly missed. America and Portugal have just lost a great son. We have just lost a great friend.
