Carolyn Theresa Burns (Copeland), 84, of Mendon passed away peacefully Sunday, January 19th at her home. Born on October 29, 1940 she was the daughter of the late F. Bernard and Helen (Meade) Copeland. She is also predeceased by daughter Carol Burns, sister, Ellen Lee (Copeland) and her longtime companion Leo Papelian. Carolyn was born in Milford and spent most of her life on Lake Nipmuc in Mendon.
Carolyn retired 20 years ago and spent her retirement doing crossword puzzles on her deck, feeding her precious birds, with her toes in the sand down the Cape and doting on her family.
She is survived by her sister Mary Copeland of NH. Her daughter Terri Stallings of Derry, NH, her daughter Deb Burns of Orleans and her son Robert Burns of Wilmington. She also leaves her 5 beloved grandchildren Dan Bliss and wife Kaila of Manchester, NH, Kristyn Arteaga and husband Omar of Manchester, NH, Brooke Stallings of Derry, NH, Taylor Burns of Orleans, MA and Alexander Burns of Wilmington MA. Also bringing so much joy to her life were her great grandchildren Conner and Aubrey Bliss of Manchester, NH and Mateo Arteaga of Manchester, NH
Visitation is Sunday, January 26th from 12(noon) to 2 pm at Consigli Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St Milford, MA. Burial will be a Vernon Grove Cemetery in the Spring. In lieu of flowers charitable donations may be made to MSPCA Angells or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital charities that were very dear to her heart.
