Debora J. (Chappell) Parnell, 65, of Woodstock, CT, passed away at home on December 20, 2024, after a courageous 12 year battle with cancer. Born on April 5, 1959, in Milford, MA, she was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Doris (Bachand) Chappell.
Debora’s life was defined by her unwavering love for her family and her ability to brighten the lives of those around her with her sense of humor, no matter what challenges she faced. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. She also had a deep love for her pets, who brought her endless comfort and joy throughout her life. Debora will be remembered for her courage and the quiet strength she carried even through the hardest days.
She is survived by her husband Gary Parnell of Webster, MA, three children: Shawn Parnell and his wife Christine of Gloucester, RI; Tami Wyne of Worcester, MA; and Julie Leduc and her husband Lance of Woodstock, CT. Debora was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren, Quinn, Calvin, Chloe, Autumn, Amelia, and Callen, who brought immense joy to her life. Her love and presence will continue to guide them. She also leaves behind her three sisters: Cindy Labadini, Susan Jankowski, and Judith Lawton, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. In addition to her parents, Debora was predeceased by others who were dear to her heart, and she now rests in their embrace. A celebration of Debora’s life will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Hopedale, MA (date to be determined) and the family will hold a private burial at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Milford, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center at Milford Regional Hospital, where she received outstanding care and support that provided her hope and precious time to create lasting memories with those she loved.
