Roland Marechal, 99, born to Marie Jeanne and Phillip Marechal in Woonsocket, RI, was a man of many talents. He graduated from Woonsocket High School and joined the U.s Army as an Infantry man, serving with General George Patton’s 3rd Army during World War II. His bravery was recognized with a Bronze Star of Heroism. After this time in the Army,
Roland’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to lead successful enterprises such as Marechal Detective and Ambulance Services in Woonsocket RI and Miami FL. His business acumen and leadership were also evident in his role as a talk show host for WNRI. His first talk show was called “Opinion in the 60’s”. In retirement, Roland was able to express his artistic capabilities. He created many beautiful woodcrafts for decorations and games.
Roland was preceded in death by his wives, Claire (Trottier) Marechal and Irene (Lussier) Marechal, his son Roland Jr, and his daughters Marguerite Soltani and Marie-Jeanne Britton. He is survived by his loving daughters Madeleine Cournoyer with whom he lived with, of Blackstone, Ma and Muriel Harter of Winchester, TN, and six grandchildren, John, Bradie, Christopher, Parisa, Alicia, Sharyar and three great grandchildren, Bradlee, Braxton and Claire.
A calling hour will be held Friday, July 12, 2024, from 9 to 10:30 A.M. at the Consigli Ruggiero Funeral Home, 46 Water Street, Milford, MA. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 A.M. at the Divine Mercy Parish 48 Saint Paul St, Blackstone,. The burial will take place in the St Charles Cemetery on Farm St. in Blackstone MA.
