Louis A. Bonvino, 89, passed away on September 30 surrounded by family at his home, after a period of declining health. He was the husband of Shirley A. (Cowen) Bonvino for 61 years. He was born and raised in Milford, son of the late Nicola and Teresa (Iannitelli) Bonvino.
Lou was a graduate of Milford High School Class of 1944. He was a WWII Veteran of the US Navy and served on the USS Princeton aircraft carrier. He was a graduate of the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. Lou was a self-employed Pharmacist as the owner of Towne Pharmacy in Millis and later worked for CVS Pharmacy in Millis and Milford. In his spare time, he enjoyed photography, sailing and vacationing on Cape Cod. He also spent his winters at his home in Safety Harbor, FL.
Lou is survived by his wife, and his 7 children: Richard Bonvino and his wife Robin of Milford, Robert Bonvino and his wife Mary of Milford, James Bonvino of Milford, Nancy Reese and her husband Gary of Safety Harbor, FL, Donna Rowe and her husband David of Medway, John Bonvino and his wife Bernadette of Upton, Paul Bonvino and his wife Debbie of Milford, 10 grandchildren, Merideth Bonvino, Stephen Bonvino, Nicole Edenfield, Jessica Lewis, Ashley Reese, Brendan Rowe, Brittany Rowe, Evan Bonvino, Samantha Bonvino, and Madison Bonvino, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours are at the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water St., Milford, MA, on Tuesday, October 4 from 5-8 PM.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 10 AM at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Milford. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
