Enrico J. Niro, 81,
Enrico J. Niro, 81, of Uxbridge, died September 24, 2013 in the Milford Regional Medical Center in Milford MA. He was the husband of Eleanor A. (Lopes) Niro of 53 years. He was born in Milford, son of the late Philip and Jennie (Cadlick) Niro and lived in Milford before moving to Uxbridge in 1960.
He was a graduate of the Milford High School class of 1950 and also attended Worcester Trade School.
Mr. Niro was employed at the former Porter Shoe Company in Milford, Nelmor Company in Uxbridge, Mendon-Upton School District and retired in 1996 from Framingham State College where he was employed as a painter.
He was a communicant of the St. Mary’s Church in Uxbridge. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, woodworking and gardening. He traveled extensively in Europe and the United States and was an avid New York Yankees fan.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Cynthia and her husband Ross Thompson of Attleboro, Jessica Niro of Whitinsville, Philip Niro of Worcester, two brothers Joseph and his wife Brenda Niro of Milford, Larry Niro of Milford, brother and sister- in- laws, Joseph and Ann Lopes of Milford, Foster Rei of FL, Lydia Niro of Milford, grandchildren Margaret Thompson, Laura Thompson, James Thompson, Kyle Thompson all of Attleboro, one great-grandchild, Helen Thompson of Attleboro, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his brother Philip “Skipper” Niro and a sister Mary Rei.
The funeral will be held Monday, September 30, 2013 at 9 A.M. from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. Milford MA.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. in the St. Mary’s Church on Mendon St. Uxbridge MA. The burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford.
The calling hours will be held Sunday from 2 to 5 P.M.
