Mr. Laquidara was by far the best teacher I had in Medway. From hatching chicks to the leaf project to "model" time, everything he did was a teaching moment. People still ask me how I know about trees and their leaf....without hesitation I tell them about my sixth grade teacher. Sadly, a part of my youth is gone. Rest in peace.

You will truly be missed, Mr. L. When my son reached school age, I quietly hoped all of the teachers he would encounter would be exactly like you. Just one short school year, but you left me and so many people with lifelong memories.
Bob Colosi
You were an amazing teach Mr. Laquidara. Looking back on it, there are some many things I know in this life simply from being in your class, and you never took a moment off from making sure we as students were well prepared to move on in life. I can honestly say that having you as a teacher was one of the greatest memeories of my life, from winning the class competition to doing the leaf project. Thank you for helping me learn and grow as a student and a individual. You will be missed

We have all been blessed to have shared time with Dave. He was an incredible man and an awesome teacher. Both of our children were enriched because of Dave's teaching talents. The ducks, chickens, leaf projects and environmental trip will forever be etched in our minds. Our sympathy to all his family.

Dave,
I only knew you in one capacity. Clearly from seeing the messages left by your students I didn't know a lot about you. Rest in peace my friend.

At the end of 5th grade, when we were being assigned teachers for the 74-75 year, the unanimous opinion of his former students was "You really want to be in Mr. Laquidara’s class.” I was lucky to be in his 6th grade class and find out for myself what a great teacher and person he was. His enthusiasm and sense of humor made learning fun. When he taught it was like he was sharing the interesting things that he had enjoyed studying. His kindness and encouragement brought out the best in people. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

The world lost one of the finest educators and human beings when Mr. Laquidara passed away. I had him in sixth grade at Burke School in the early 1980s. HIs genuine enthusiam for learning was contagious. Mr. Laquidara's compassion, caring and concern for all students has left an impression on me and the thousands of students who were fortunate to have known him.

God, thank you for the wonderful gift of Dave. I couldn't have asked for a better teacher, mentor and faithful friend. His teaching style was so creative, nurturing, insightful and humorous. He was one of Medway's finest. We shared many memories over the past 42 years: the excitement of pupils, supportive parents, a dedicated teaching staff, the Lynch/Romsey era of leadership, Conservation School, Lemon Squeeze,Baby Charlie, dorm life haunted stories,Nature's Classroom,Underground Railroad, Voyage of the Mimi, leaf project, creative oral and written ILPs, our trip to Ireland, KMM Easy St.retreats, Washington D.C. just three weeks ago, meeting every Friday for a cup of tea to go over our lessons etc. I and all who were fortunate to experience his passionate ways will dearly miss him.

In 1972 Mr Laquidara was a young man, I was fortunate to have him as my 6th grade teacher at the old James G Anderson School. Anyone who walked into Dave's class room instantly recognized his committment and passion to cultivate the minds of his student. I will be forever grateful for positive influence on myself and my classmates.

Knowing that Dave is not part of this earth anymore makes it great to realize he's in a better place and still bringing joy to all the lives he touched by the hundreds of mind pictures we all have of his laughter and the caring he brought to so many people through his years, especially at Medway. See you again, Dave, don't know when but I do know where! Peace

Absolute shock!!! My kids remember him fondly from the Medway schools for his dedication, fairness and friendliness. Dave was a good friend, fellow teacher and traveling companion. I'll never forget our trips to Alaska and the Panama Canal. Dave, Ken, Dick and myself just returned from a D.C. trip less than three weeks ago and he was in great spirits and we had lots of the usual laughs. We will all miss his heartfelt laughter. RIP, good buddy.

My heart is sadden upon hearing that my good friend and colleague Dave has died. Dave was on the Men's Team, and I was on the Women's Team. We shared so much laughter in the halls of the Medway Middle School. David was a super teacher and worked relentlessly for the children of Medway. I will miss our times together.
See You Again My Friend,

Mr. Laquidara was a gift to so many of us who were lucky enough to have been his student. I remember so many things that have stuck with me since 1981 when I was in his sixth grade class. He was a dedicated not just to teaching, but to nurturing curiosity, exploration and life! He would play classical music while we were working on an in-class assignment, a revolutionary act in my mind! He was comforting to those of us who felt out of place during a very awkward time in our lives, and he brought such passion and hands-on experience to the classroom. He made such a huge and positive impression that stands the test of time. I'm remembering him well here, and send wishes for strength and comfort to the family and friends close to him.

Best science teacher ever! I had him in 93-94. Learned so much from him! The leaf project, Maine, hatching chicks and ducklings, and so many more memories. Always made learning fun! He will be missed.

David was one of my absolute favorite teachers (73-74 6th grade) @ Medway Elementary. I remember impromptu field trips to his uncle's Rock Shop in Woodville (Mr. Barry) to collect rock specimens to trying to inflate real cow lungs (still pretty gross) by blowing into the esophagus. I am saddened to hear of his passing and offer my condolences to his family. It is obvious from reading these postings that Mr. Laquidara connected with his students over the years and had a positive effect on so many of us.
Eddie Eldridge
I knew David for over 35 yrs. He was a good and decent man, beloved by all his students, respected by all who knew him. My three children went to Maine with David and loved him very much. I was so saddened to hear of his passing. I'll remember him fondly.
I offer my condolences to his family.

Dave was a good friend, a friend of the heart, a soul mate, and losing him is like losing part of oneself. But the friendship and love that Dave brought us will never leave, for his essence remains part of us. Memories of the good times the "grumpy old men" had will linger.
We cling to our memories and allow them to heal the hurt. The laughter and joy in the togetherness we shared will bring back smiles. We (Everyone) was blessed to have experienced such a precious gift of your life.
Now that we have a friend in heaven, we expect intercession, Dave. Till we meet again, we will remember and enjoy the good times. Requiescant in pace.
Dick and Faith Flaherty
Dave was a constant presence at the Hopkinton Middle School offering his volunteer services in many instances. The kids loved seeing him in the hallway after school where he would keep them on their toes while asking different academic type questions. And he knew every student by name.
He will be truly missed. Thoughts and prayers to his family
