Michael A Minichiello, 88

Michael A Minichiello, 88, of Milford, died June 10, 2013 in Milford. He was the husband of the late Angelina P. (Cogliandro) Minichiello who died in 1984. He was born in Milford, son of the late Michele and Assunta (Trongone) Minichiello and brother of the late Angelo, Anthony C., Victor A., and Frank J Minichiello Sr. and was a lifelong Milford resident. 
    He was a graduate of the St Mary's High School class of 1943 and also a graduate of the Worcester Business School. He was a World War II Navy Veteran serving with the 50th Seabee Battalion stationed on Tinian Island, Mariana Islands in the South Pacific. 
    Mr. Minichiello retired in 1982 from the former Grafton and Upton Railroad in Hopedale where he was employed for 32 years as a Freight Agent.
     He is survived by his 3 Son’s Michael J. and his wife Paula Minichiello of Whitinsville, Alfred J. and his wife Fortunata (Lucky) Minichiello of Milford, John A. and his wife Therese Minichiello of Milford. A daughter Jo-Ann Hudson of Cerritos California. He was predeceased by his daughter Rita Minichiello who died in 1979. 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
     Mr. Minichiello was a communicant of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Alter boy and Eucharistic minister, Lecture, and choir member. He was also a member of many church and school committees. Was the 1st Cub Scout Master for Pack 67. Had worked for Ruggerio Brothers Ambulance Service during the 1960’s.. He worked sales at the Music Nook and Morin’s Camera Studio. Camera buff as we all knew, videotaped football games for many years in the 70’s for Milford High and St. Mary’s high school.  During his free time he worked years for candidates running for a Milford office, audio and video recorded town meetings, and church services, town meetings and political debates. He was a warden at the Milford polls for over 45 years, and later in years for the Cable Company Mr. Minichiello was chosen as "Man of the Year" 2008 by his peers from the Milford Senior Center. Mike was a good and decent man, a role model for kindness, a devout Catholic. He is honest, compassionate, and patriotic, worked hard all his life, and is devoted and proud of his family.  Mr. Minichiello taught the importance of family…Respect…Responsibility. 
    The funeral will be held Friday June 14, 2013 at 8 A.M. from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. Milford MA. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9 A.M. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church 7 East Main St. MIlford MA. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery
Calling hours are Thursday from 5 to 8 P.M.

Mike, Fred, Jo-Ann, John & Families, So deeply sorry to hear of the passing of your Dad. We would have been at his services but unfortunately we heard the news too late. I worked on so many projects with him through the years that I can't even remember when I got to know him so well. I'm sure I first met him when he ran the spotlight for all the St. Mary's plays. Then we sang in the Community Music Group together for a while. He always provided lots of laughs to that group when we visited nursing homes. I last saw him I think a few summers ago when he was still taping and providing entertainment for the cable channel. We had so much respect for him. He was truly a decent person. Always willing to pitch in to help anyone who requested it. Always with a smile. Sincere Sympathy

Dear John, Freddy, Mickey, Jo-Ann and all of your families, We were so very sorry to learn of the passing of your dad, Uncle Mike. He was always a pleasure to be with, fun to be around, someone who really enjoyed the gift of life he was given, and helped others enjoy theirs as well. Lee and I will always be grateful to your dad for his wonderful gift of our wedding photos, we think of him whenever we view them, and always will. We will miss his smile and wit at Minichiello gatherings, as surely you will miss him very often. John,Terri,Evan,Leah and family, we haven't been in the family long, but we knew right away that family was very important to you all. Now, reading your father's/grandfather's obituary we know where you all had your influence. It seems your father was well respected, accomplished, and very family oriented. I am sure he spent many hours counceling and assisting not only you guys growing up but also others in the communitny. I am sure no words can express your sorrow and deep loss at this time but hopefully as you look over his accomplishments, experiences, and memories you had with him you take some comfort in knowing as much as you all loved him, he loved you all just as fiercely and with just as much passion.
