I am so sorry to hear of Dietger's passing. I was room service maitre d' at the Ritz in the late 70s and worked with him there and in banquets during his years at the Ritz-Carlton. I had not seen him since I left the Ritz nearly thirty years ago but I still remember his smile and easy going manner. I send my prayers and heartfelt condolences to his family.

Dear Janet,
I´m very sad to hear from Günter, that Dietger died last Sunday.
We were schoolfriends and visited 2 years an economy-school in Augsburg, Germany. After that he soon lived in the USA, and we met us 45 years later together with you in Gersthofen. I and also my wife Christiane were glad to see you at another class reunion .
Now he´s gone and I will remember Dietger (Dia) an an fine, friendly friend with a good sense humor.
Now, dear Janet, I will send you my sincere condolences and all best wishes of my wife too !

I was very saddened to hear of Dietger's passing. I know how bravely he fought to be with you and stay positive. He was an honorable man who had become a fixture in our family since Perk's first opened. I have missed and will miss his greeting, "Good morning, young lady." He was always very caring for Billy and my family and me. I hope you find comfort in each other and knowing how much he loves you. You are a wonderful family. You have my most heartfelt sympathy. God bless you.

My most sincere condolences to you all. Dietger was by far the most inspiring and thoughtful employer I have ever had. I learned a great deal from him during my time at Perk’s and I carry these lessons with me still.

Dear Janet, I was very lucky to know Dietger since summer 1961. We became friends then and kept our connection alive, even over the long distance and time. And since our last class reunion our friendship got even stronger. I am deeply sorry that we lost him too soon. He will always be on my mind as a really great person.
May my best wishes be with you and your family.

Roger and I would like to express our sincere condolences to Janet, Derek and Elizabeth on the passing of Dietger. I am sure he will be remembered fondly by many people, especially the patrons of "Perks". Whenever I would call Janet and Dietger answered, we would always share a few laughs, even when he was sick. To our dear friend Janet, we share in your sorrow and we are here for you whenever you need us.

We are feeling very sad about Dietger's death. He was a good neighbor, kept his garden up beautifully, and was always in good spirits, even during his illness.
We have fond memories of seeing you both driving down the road in your convertible sporty car, going off for a nice day together.
Our sincerest sympathy to the Langenberg family. Remember, Janet, we're just around the corner.
Ervina and Tom Hamilton
I feel very sad for your loss, I did not know Mr. Langenberg very well. Although I know Derek and always enjoyed visiting Mr. Langenberg's home. Mrs. Langenberg was always very kind to me and there was a feeling of great harmony and peace when I was at the Langenberg's. Derek is a good man and a good friend to many of us, I believe this is a reflection of what kind of a father and man that Mr. Langenberg was.
Please accept my condolences,

So sorry to hear this news. I have been a friend of Derek's for over 25 years, and I remember Mr. Langenberg very fondly. He was truly a fantastic guy. He always had a smile on his face and a great sense of humor, and you could tell how proud he was of his family. He always made you feel welcome at his restaurants or at his home, and had a very kind and welcoming demeanor. Rest in peace, and my condolences to the entire Langenberg Family.
