Doris A. Hopkins, 96, of Milford, Massachusetts, died Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Countryside Health Care in Milford, after a long full life. She was the wife of the late Robert Hopkins who died in 2008. They were married for 60 wonderful years. She is survived by her two daughters, Diane Hopkins and her husband Don Fowler of Vienna, Virginia, and Deborah Mistretta and her husband Anthony Mistretta of Milford, her granddaughter Lauren Nicgorski and her husband Dana Nicgorski of Burlington, Massachusetts, her grandson Mark Mistretta of Milford, as well as two great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Doris was born on January 30, 1927 in Everett, Massachusetts and lived in Belmont and Waltham, Massachusetts for most of her adult life. She and her husband also had a home in Florida where they enjoyed living during many winter months. She was predeceased by her parents, Amedeo and Mabel Sabatini, and three brothers, Joseph Staples of Florida, Alfred Sabatini and his late wife Joan of Salem, New Hampshire, and David Staples and his late wife Betsy of Florida.
Doris worked as a cosmetologist and model, and later with her husband in his appliance repair business. She also worked as a retail consultant and obtained her brokerage license in real estate. She enjoyed interior design, flower arranging, sewing, and gardening.
A memorial service for Doris and her husband will be held September 9, 2023 from 9 to 10:30 A.M. at the Consigli Ruggerio funeral Home 46 Water St. followed by the burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Medway Rd.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association.
