Auntie, Joyce, Melo family and “our Morais family”, we are so very sorry for your loss. Uncle Mauricio always had a twinkle in his eyes and a smile on his face. We know he enjoyed every minute with his family and was so proud of you all, especially his very special loving wife and Joyce❤️ May the memories you shared bring smiles to your faces in the near future. As I stand here, bereaved of my dear Uncle Maurice, I can recall one of his favourite stories about how he built his own house by himself working late afternoons and evenings after his normal work day. He would replenish his energy by bringing a 10 lb bag of cooked potatoes and 2 loaves of bread to work each day. I found him to be a wealth of knowledge and very passionate. We would talk about carpentry, cars, his travels and life itself and I enjoyed every minute of it. I have a ton of sweet memories about him, and I could go on telling his tales for days. But I know that would only cover an ounce of his life and it would still be an imperfect explanation of someone I loved so much. I know that even though he’s gone, he is still there with us, in the leaves of the trees that he planted, in the fruits that bloom in full swing in the season and in the shade of his pride sculptured Hedges that we all so dearly loved to tease him about. And I hope to live life the best I can, following his principles and teachings that will be treasured by many generations in our family to come. Thank you all for taking the time to pay your condolences to our beloved departed soul May he rest in peace.

Irene, Joyce and David. I will always remember Mauricio as a kind, loving, sweet man. Your family and the Morais family were very welcoming to us when we arrived in 1960 to the US and I will always cherish those memories. Please accept our sincere condolences.
