John F. “Frank” Fowler, 83, of Bellingham, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 4, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
He is the beloved husband of 60 years to Virginia A. (Calder) Fowler. Born in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada, on February 17, 1939, he is the son of the late John D. and Julia (Bowdring) Fowler. Frank moved to the United States at the age of 21 and resided in Watertown and Newton, MA, prior to relocating to Bellingham, MA, in 1978.
He is the loving father of Julie A. Wheeler and her husband Bob of Uxbridge, MA, Sharon M. Bibbo and her partner Tim Lomberto of Uxbridge, MA, John F. “Jay” Fowler Jr. and his wife Jamie of Millville, MA, and Mary Ann Maietta and her husband Dennis of Uxbridge, MA. Brother of Charles E. “Doug” Fowler of Canada, Joseph C. “Neil” Fowler of Clemmons, NC, John D. “David” Fowler of Brockton, MA, and the late Robert J. “Jim” Fowler of Canada. He is also survived by his 9 cherished grandchildren, Erica Bibbo, Richard Bibbo, William Wheeler, Nicolas Wheeler, Robin Wheeler-Lavallee, Evan Maietta, Lucas Maietta, Shane Fowler and Deven Fowler, as well as 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He had worked as a security guard for Securitas at EMC for many years, until retiring at the age of 74. Prior to which, he had worked for over 25 years at General Motors in Framingham, MA. He was an avid fan of New England sports, he enjoyed playing cribbage and horseshoes, listening to music, and writing poetry. He was also extremely proud of becoming a citizen of the United States in 2004, in the presence of his family.
The private services will be held at the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water St., Milford, MA, at the convenience of the family.
