Henry R. Ruggiero, 93,

Henry R. Ruggiero, 93, of Milford, MA, died Saturday evening, February 19, 2022 at Cornerstone at Milford after a period of declining health. He was the loving husband of Jean (Morganelli) Ruggiero who passed away in April 2017. They were married almost 68 years.

Hank was born in Milford, MA, son of the late Pasquale and Angela (Romanazzi) Ruggiero. He is survived by his son, Rob Ruggiero; his daughter, Marianne Iacovelli and her husband John; his grandson, Greg Iacovelli; his granddaughter, Carolyn McCarthy and her husband Kevin; and his new great-grandson John Michael (“Jack”) McCarthy. He is predeceased by his sister Lillian (Ruggiero) Cervone, and also leaves behind two sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.

He was a 1947 graduate of Milford High School, and a graduate of Becker College. Upon graduation, he was drafted into the U.S. Army. When he completed his service, he worked as an accountant, as well as a bookkeeper for Stylon Corporation. Later he moved into banking as his life’s work, and eventually became a commercial loan officer and Vice President of Home National Bank. Before retiring he worked as a commercial loan officer for Milford National Bank for a number of years. Since his youth, Hank enjoyed fishing and hunting with friends. He was an active member of Fin, Fur & Feather in Millis and the Maspenock Rod & Gun Club. He was also a long-time member of The Milford Lion’s Club, and he served on the Board of Directors at Countryside of Milford for many years.

He enjoyed meeting friends for breakfast, his time at the Cape house, and going for long walks with his wife. “Papa” loved spoiling his grandchildren and spending lots of time with his family. Hank’s family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care he received from Michelle, Barbara, Morgan, Fatima and Pam from the Cornerstone Community, as well as from Christina and her team from Compassionate Care Memorial donations may be to The Milford Lions Club or to The Amedisys Foundation which supports compassionate care.
