Wayne Joseph Tomaso, 66,

    Wayne Joseph Tomaso, 66, of Milford, died on Sunday, June 6th, 2021 at Milford Regional Medical Center after a short but courageous battle with lung cancer. Husband of 31 years to Carol (Lancisi) Tomaso, he was the son of the late Biagio and Anna (Jablonski) Tomaso. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer (Tomaso) Fortin and her husband George of Windham, NH. He was known as "Grumpy" to his grandsons Georgie, Joey, Jack and James. Stepfather to Tara Crivello and Michael Crivello. Step-grandfather to Arianna and Michael. He is also survived by his sister Judith (Tomaso) Poirier of Milford, his brother Kenny Tomaso and his wife Geri of Uxbridge, sister-in-law Paula DiVitto and husband Paul, Brothers-in-law Ken Lancisi and wife Nel of Phoenix, Arizona and Mark Lancisi and wife Michelle, nieces Debbie (Poirier) Kehoe, Paula (Tomaso) Pomponio and Karyn Tomaso and nephews Michael Tomaso, Randy Poirier and Kevin Tomaso. He was predeceased by his brother John, brother-in-law George Poirier, sister-in-law Eileen (Smith) Tomaso and sister-in-law Donna Croteau. He had several cousins and dear friends. 

 

    A 1972 graduate of Milford High School, he retired from Verizon after 36 years. He was a long time member of the Italian American Veterans Club. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed traveling with Carol to the Cape, Ossipee Lake and his favorite place, Disney World. He adored and spoiled Grady, his Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. He was passionate about cooking and sharing recipes and food with friends and family. He was best known for his porketta and roasted potatoes, homemade pastas, pizza and cappellettis. He walked 2 miles every day and enjoyed watching live music performances. Wayne loved spending time with his best friend and nephew Kevin Tomaso.

 

    Calling hours will be held Thursday June 10, 2021 from 5 to 8 P.M. at the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water Street, Milford, MA. A brief memorial service will be held on Friday June 11, 2021 at 10 A.M. followed by a burial service at Vernon Grove.
