Robert W. Dexter, 86, formerly of Bellingham and Mendon, died Monday, June 25, 2018 at the Blaire House Nursing Center in Milford. He was the husband of the late Madeline (Taxiera) Dexter, who passed in 2008.
Born in Natick, he was the son of the late Robert H. and Emma T. (Beavis) Dexter, and was a graduate of Framingham High School, class of 1949.
A U.S. Navy, Korean War, Veteran, he had worked for the U.S. Postal Service for over 24 years. First as a letter carrier, then an electrical technician. Prior to his enlistment in the Navy, he served in the National Guard for 2 years. Mr. Dexter had also worked for Waters Corp., Dumont, and Applied Measurements, as well as working part-time at O’Grady’s Garage in Mendon.
He was the father of William J. Dexter of Medway, Stephen A. Dexter and his wife Karen of Blackstone, Thomas J. Dexter and his wife Tammy of Bellingham, Madeline T. DeSimone and her husband Paul of Medway, Catherine A. Kampersal and her husband Harry of Holliston, and the late Robert E. Dexter. He was predeceased by his brother Edward Dexter, and sisters, Violet Walsh and Virginia Maude. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at the St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Winter St., Milford, at 10:00AM. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Milford.
Visiting will be held from 8:30-9:30AM, prior to the Mass at the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water St., Milford.
