Albertina “Tina” (doCurral) Chaves, 91,

Albertina “Tina” (doCurral) Chaves, 91,

Albertina “Tina” (doCurral) Chaves, 91, of Milford MA passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 13, 2026. Tina is survived by her devoted husband of 68 years, Diego Chaves. Tina lived in Milford Massachusetts her entire life, where she raised her children and built a loving home. Family was always her top priority, especially her children and grandchildren. In later years she and her husband spent winters in Kauai, HI.

Quiet by nature with incredible inner strength and patience, she enjoyed watching The Golden Girls while working on crossword puzzles. She was also known for her sweet tooth.  We find comfort in knowing her legacy lives through the lessons she taught and the love she shared. Devoted mother to three sons and a daughter;  John Chaves and his wife Mary of Auburn MA, James Chaves of Kauai HI, Steven Chaves of Milford MA, Suzann Chaves-Boyd and her husband Larry Boyd of Milford MA. She is survived by her beloved grandchildren; Chad Gandolfi and his wife Kayla, Paije Gandolfi and her partner David Goulet, and Nicole Chaves.  Great-grandsons; Hunter, Ethan and Milo Gandolfi and Maverick Goulet.  Also, survived by her beloved brothers; Bento doCurral and his wife Jean of Milford, and Joe doCurral of Myrtle Beach SC. She was predeceased by her brother Carlos doCurral and his wife Judith, and granddaughter Amy Chaves.

A mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday January 20, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Saint Mary of the Assumption Church, Milford, Burial will follow at Saint Mary Cemetery.  There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations can be made to a charitable organization of your choosing.

She lived a long life and was happy, and did it her way till the end. Once she couldn't satisfy her sweet tooth, she wanted OUT! Always enjoyed my visits with her. She's in a better place. Aging is not easy!! My heart goes out to her family.
