Clara M. ( Tosches ) Ferrucci, of Hopedale, MA, passed away peacefully at the age of 98. Born on September 7, 1926, she was the beloved daughter of John and Lucy Tosches and the devoted wife of the late Rudolph J. Ferrucci, with whom she shared 55 wonderful years until his passing on June 14, 2003. Clara grew up in Milford, Massachusetts, where she attended Milford High School, graduating in June 1944. Throughout high school, she worked at Woolworth’s 5 & 10 store, balancing her studies with full-time summer work. After graduation, she worked at Telecron in Ashland, from 1944 to 1949. She later spent five years at the Red Shutter Restaurant.
Clara and Rudolph were blessed with three sons: the late David, who passed away in 1961 at the age of 2½; Rudolph J. Ferrucci Jr. and his wife Lynn of Plymouth, MA; and Robert D. Ferrucci and his wife Michele, Berwick, ME. She was the cherished grandmother of Erika Floum, and David, Brian, and Adam Ferrucci, and proud great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Nicholas Tosches, who served as the editor of the Milford Daily News. Clara also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Together with Rudolph, Clara was a dedicated entrepreneur. They owned and operated Rudy’s Wholesale Foods for 30 years, Rudy’s Chick ‘N Chip in Wrentham for 12 years, and the Sunbrite Laundromat in Upton for another 12 years. She retired at the age of 76, having lived a life filled with hard work, family, and community. A devoted member of Sacred Heart Church in Hopedale, Clara was active in the Women’s Club. She was also a member of the Diamond Card Club for over 20 years, cherishing the friendships and camaraderie she found there. Clara will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her tireless work ethic, and the warmth and kindness she extended to all who knew her.
A calling hour will be held Monday, August 18, 2025 from 9 to 10 A.M. followed by a funeral home service at the Consigli Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St Milford. The burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford.
Donations in Clara’s memory may be made to Boston Children’s Hospital, in memory of her son David Ferrucci.
