Franklin Nelson Haley, 83,

Franklin Nelson Haley, 83, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. Born in Boston, Frank was the son of Kathleen and Nelson Haley. He was the devoted husband of RoseMarie Haley.

After attending high school, he joined the United States Navy Reserves. Frank worked at Digital Corporation as a computer analyst.

Frank was predeceased by his parents Kathleen and Nelson Haley and his sister Patricia Rousseau. He is survived by his wife of 57 years RoseMarie Haley, his daughters Cindy Haley-Higgins and Michele Hanscom, and his grandchildren Veronica Casey, Brandon Hanscom, Valerie Higgins, and Jake Hanscom.

Frank was a proud member of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. Throughout his time in the organization, he worked tirelessly on registering the graves of Union soldiers. He was instrumental in ensuring a proper military burial of six Massachusetts Civil War veterans whose remains were uncovered during a construction project in Virginia in 2004. He also worked on the relocation and dedication of memorials in Bellingham Center and helped the North Bellingham/Oak Cemetery get listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Frank enjoyed genealogy and was an avid coin collector. At family gatherings, you could find him playing poker and singing along to his favorite songs. He also loved Coca Cola, bacon, and chocolate. In his later years, he found a love of Bingo, often hoarding his winning tickets to buy his family gifts at the Bingo store.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.

I can't even begin to write all the good times we all had together with Uncle Frank. I remember him with my Dad and Da singing talking and often arguing about silly things but always good friends and family. I know they are together again doing the same things and I miss them all so much. I hope you know how sorry I am for your loss and I am keeping you in my thoughts and sending my love. Thank you Uncle Frank for all the great times we had as a family and we will miss you lots love and more, Maria
