Ana Maria DaSilva, 92
Ana Maria DaSilva, 92, of Milford, died Monday, April 15, 2013 at her home. She was the wife of the late Jose Afonso who died in 1976.
She was born in Portugal, daughter of the late Alvino Moutinho and Ana DaSilva, and moved to Milford in 1978.
Mrs. DaSilva had worked for the former Milford Shoe for many years, where she was employed as a shoe worker. She was a communicant of the St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church.
She was the mother of Arnaldo Afonso and his wife Maria, Jose Afonso and his wife Fernanda, Carlos Afonso and his wife Maria, Esperanca Cosquete and her husband Jose, Beatriz Pinto and her husband Domingos, and Ana DoSouto and her husband Miguel, all of Milford, and the late Adelaide Sousa. Also survived by her son-in-law, Joaquim Sousa of Portugal, 14 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday, April 19, 2013 at 11AM, from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral home 46 Water St. Milford, followed by a mass of Christian burial at 12 Noon at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church on Winter St., Milford. Burial will take place at a later date in Portugal.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5 to 8 P.M.
