Francesca (DeSantis) Valastro, 81
Francesca (DeSantis) Valastro, 81, of Milford, died Wednesday, January 11, 2012, in the St. Vincent’s hospital in Worcester. She was the wife of Pietro Valastro of 59 years. She was born in Cansano, Italy, daughter of the late Fabio and Anna (DeBartolomeis) DeSantis and moved to Milford in 1960. Mrs. Valastro retired in 1984 from the former Anthony Robert in Milford where she was employed as a seamstress. She also was employed at the former Karteganer’s Hat Factory in Upton as a seamstress. She was a communicant of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and a member of the red Hat Society.
In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons Vincent and his wife Maria (Cociamano) Valastro of Milford, Placido and his wife Debra (Johnson) Valastro of Blackstone, one daughter Carmela and her husband Samih Homsi of Mendon, three brothers Franco DeSantis of Uxbridge, Nicholas DeSantis of Milford, Italo DeSantis of FL, one sister Alba Pantaleo of Milford, six grandchildren Paul-Michael Valastro of Cumberland RI, Melissa DeCastro of Blackstone, Tony Homsi of Franklin, Pietro S. Valastro of Milford, Thomas Homsi of Mendon and Francesca G. Valastro of Milford.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 9 A.M. at the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 A.M. in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church 7 East Main St. Milford. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Medway Rd. in Milford Calling hours are Tuesday from 5 to 8 P.M.
